A LETTER TO ME

If my younger self could see me today

She would be so proud of the person I’ve turned into.

She would hear all the things I have to say,

She would be happy to know

How many dreams I’ve accomplished even when I didn’t think I could.

She would look up to me

I would show her how much love I have around me.

Tell her about the hard things I have been through

But mostly about the heartwarming memories I have.

But she would remind me of all the beautiful things I forget to cherish today.

How I used to look at things instead of capturing them online.

How I used to not care about what people thought of me.

And she would tell me to pay closer attention.

Even though I am not having everything I wish for today.

But she knows that I will get up and grab all those things which I wish for.

She would tell me to not look away but to look into people’s eyes.

There is such a beauty in them.

She would tell me that it is okay to feel sad, but I cannot let it take over me.

She would tell me not to overthink too much.

She would make sure I take care of myself before everyone else.

She would teach me how to love myself again.

Because she has been through everything I’ve been through.

She is somewhere inside me hoping to be happy again.
